My primary work these days is as an Assistant Professor and Program Director for Bellevue University in Bellevue Nebraska where I’ve been full time since 2014. Prior to my work at Bellevue I worked in K12 education from 2007 to 2014 and before that I worked in corporate and nonprofit environments.

I love teaching in the areas of technology and creativity. In these areas I also have a significant focus on practicality. Student success can be addictive and having a student centered focus and a practical mindset I enjoy seeing students apply what they learn in their work and personal lives to find success and fulfillment.

With a passion for distance education, I teach primarily online with the exception of short workshops (preferably in exciting locations). I think my favorite quote regarding distance education would be “Distance education is … a set of values about opening opportunity and leveling inequalities” Michael Moore (2011, Handbook of Distance Education 2nd edition, p. xxviii). After finding myself raising two small boys alone I personally discovered just how critically important quality distance education is for so many people.

Anonymous Student Feedback:

Professor Bergeron is one of the best professors I have had in my entire college career.
I really feel like her cared about the education of all his students and would extend a hand if we were ever drowning. But he also was reasonable with the help he gave and didn't baby us. He was also very reasonable about grading us and left thorough explanations as to why we got the grade that we did. All in all, an exceptional class and a genuine professor.
Highly professional and responsive - provided kind gentle guidance until I was able to grasp the concepts.
I've really enjoyed all of the classes and our instructor in this program of study! I feel like I am getting to know my classmates and we all learn from each other.

Professor Bergeron has been helpful throughout the course and generally responds to questions within 24 hours, which is important during accelerated classes.
Professor Bergeron has been exceptionally interactive and responsive to questions. He has stated that he values our feedback as it helps him improve the course for future sessions - a direct representation of what has been taught!
Professor Bergeron has been a great instructor for this program. He gives great comments/feedback and pushes us to do our best. I've learned so much from him already and look forward to learning more through this program of study.
